Muğla Cumhuriyet Başsavcılığı koordinesinde yürütülen soruşturma kapsamında gözaltına alınan şüpheli ifadesinde; 1998 yılında örgüte dahil olduğunu, sorumlu örgüt abisinden yüz yüze eğitimler aldığını, Maltepe Askeri Lisesi ve Kara Harp Okulu döneminde örgütün mahrem yapılanmasını öğrenerek verilen talimatlar doğrultusunda hareket ettiğini, gizlilik kurallarına uyup örgütsel emirleri yerine getirdiğini ve bu süreçte örgüt içerisinde "Selim" kod adını kullanmaya başladığını beyan etmiştir. Darbe girişiminin başarısız olması üzerine sahte kimlikle "Salih Usta" adını kullanarak 7 yıl boyunca Afyonkarahisar’da gizlendiğini, yakalanmamak adına yabancı uyruklu şahısların kimlik ve internet hatlarını kullandığını, ailesiyle e-posta üzerinden haberleştiğini beyan etmiştir. Yapılan incelemelerde şüphelinin çok sayıda ankesörlü/ardışık arama kaydının bulunduğu da tespit edilmiştir. Milli iradeye, devletimizin bekasına ve Sayın Cumhurbaşkanımıza kasteden terör odaklarına karşı mücadelemiz, firari son örgüt mensubu adalete teslim edilinceye kadar kararlılıkla sürecektir.
