What a Twitch channel is worth, measured

PlayerSells tracks 66,493 active Twitch channels and holds a measured viewership sample for 41,506 of them. The median tracked channel averages 5 concurrent viewers, 104 is the 90th percentile and 1,431 is the 99th. Follower counts run far higher and mean far less: the median channel has 266 followers, the 90th percentile has 12,688, the 99th has 372,271, and the largest has 21,733,442. Measured 2 September 2026.

A Twitch channel averaging 104 concurrent viewers with 12,688 followers - the 90th percentile on both measures - earns an estimated $363 to $1,630 a month on a stated 60-hour schedule. On a 12 to 24 month income multiple plus $5,310 of standing audience, that values the channel at $7,540 to $46,550, with a midpoint of $27,050. The audience half is priced at $45 per average concurrent viewer against $0.05 per follower, a ratio of nine hundred to one, because a sponsor buys the person watching and not the person who followed once.

That figure is not a sale price. Twitch's terms of service prohibit selling, transferring or sharing an account, and channels found to have changed hands are suspended, so a Twitch channel cannot legally be bought. The valuation is what the channel is worth to the person who runs it: a year or two of the income it produces plus the audience it can carry to a sponsor. Why we may have no viewer numbers for a channel

Twitch publishes no viewership history, so ours is sampled rather than read: the engine walks the live category listings every 15 minutes and only sees a channel while it is actually broadcasting. On 2 September 2026, kaicenat, ninja and xqc all read null viewership in our index despite being among the largest channels on Twitch, purely because none of them went live inside a sweep window. A missing measurement is a gap in our coverage, never a statement that a channel has no audience - which is why the fields below let you value a channel from your own figures instead.

What this cannot tell you

The valuation inherits every uncertainty in the income estimate underneath it and then multiplies it by twelve to twenty-four, so the band is genuinely wide. It also knows nothing about the things that decide a real creator business: brand deals already signed, a YouTube or Discord audience alongside the channel, merchandise, or an agency contract. And our viewership sample covers 41,506 of 66,493 tracked Twitch channels, so a channel we have never caught streaming has no measurement here - enter the numbers by hand and the model answers identically.

What actually makes a Twitch channel valuable?

Concurrent viewers first, consistency second, everything else after. The 100-point score on this page splits 40 points for measured viewership, 25 for the follower base, 20 for how many hours a month the channel is genuinely live, and 15 for partner status and account age. A channel with a large following and no viewers scores poorly on purpose, because that is exactly how it earns.

Do followers matter for a Twitch channel's value?

Much less than people expect. Across Twitch channels with more than 100 followers, the median has 1.09% of them watching at any moment and the 90th percentile reaches 4.65%. A follower who never opens the stream generates no subscription, no bits, no ad impression and no tip, so the model prices followers at $0.05 each against $45 for an average concurrent viewer.

Why a 12 to 24 month income multiple?

Because that is where creator businesses trade. The multiple does not widen or narrow on how often a channel streams: a channel that goes live twice a month does not get a lower multiple, it gets lower income, which is where that fact belongs. Keeping the multiple fixed and letting the income carry the variation is what stops the same fact being counted twice.

Twitch publishes no viewership history, so we sample it. Our engine reads the live Twitch category listings every 15 minutes and rolls the readings up into average concurrent viewers, peak viewers, hours streamed and hours watched. As of 2 September 2026 that covers 41,506 channels out of 66,493 tracked.
