Soldiers don’t take pleasure in enforcing restrictions. If they are standing there, they are doing it for strong reasons and for your safety. 3. She said twice - "We are tourists". So? If you are a tourist, you have to follow the rules and regulations of that particular area. There is a US religious freedom body called USCIRF. It is now demanding sanctions against India’s intelligence agency RAW, and the RSS. Most of the media coverage focuses simply on the fact that this is "USCIRF", an American body. But what the media won’t tell you is that: The current Chair and Commissioner of USCIRF is Dr. Asif Mahmood, a Pakistani who moved to the USA in the 1990s, later obtained U.S. citizenship, and took up activism. The other point that deserves scrutiny is his own background and his views about India, Kashmir, the Ram Mandir, and the CAA. If you check his old posts on these topics, you will get an idea of his ideological views against India. So, when USCIRF makes recommendations for sanctions against RAW, the media should also examine the backgrounds and ideology of the individuals leading the Commission, rather than looking only at the label "USCIRF".

This is from Manipur. Thousands of women held a torch rally in Imphal demanding the implementation of the NRC in the state. They insist: first, implement the NRC, and then carry out the census. And if there is no NRC, then no census. When the people of Manipur have been demanding the NRC in the state for several years, what is stopping the Govt from implementing it? Will the NRC remain merely a part of political speeches during elections? At least implement the NRC in the border states of India, and start with Manipur because many illegal immigrants in Manipur have been found to be involved in poppy cultivation, encroachment on forest land, and working with militant groups based in Myanmar. We stand with the people of Manipur demanding the NRC. It is a legitimate demand for the national security.

Now, the “UGC Roll Back” protest has started at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. Either remove or reform the UGC Promotion of Equity Regulations. They are one-sided regulations. And, these regulations could end up dividing students and creating further divisions on university campuses. If General category students are not included in protection against caste-based discrimination on campuses, then the UGC Promotion of Equity Regulations will be misused like the SC/ST Act. It will be used as a weapon for personal grudges, jealousy, and to destroy careers. The objective should be to eliminate discrimination and casteism, the rules must apply equally to everyone...General, OBC, SC, ST...everyone. Regulations should unite campuses, not divide them.
