Jessica Meir engagement report
@Astro_Jessica - 271K followers on X
Measured over 17 original posts from a 30-day window, last computed on October 28, 2026.
Engagement
A typical post picks up 1.5K interactions against 271K followers, an engagement rate of 0.546%. Measured over 17 original posts, its engagement rate beats 86% of 21,624 tracked accounts of a similar size. Comparing inside a size band matters here: engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly just re-measure the follower count. Posts are seen about 39K times each, and 3.75% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 14.6% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 1 post a day over the last 30 days, with activity on roughly 57% of days. Most posts go out around 14:00 UTC, and Monday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 17 posts sampled, 100% carry an image or video. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 33K interactions, about 22x its own typical post.

Compared with accounts its own size
Jessica Meir's engagement rate beats 86% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (21,624 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 9 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.
On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 80% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.
Where this sits in the catalog
At 0.546%, Jessica Meir sits above the 50th percentile of the 217,857 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the above the median band, which runs 0.149% to 0.705%.

Posting timing
This account posts most often around 14:00 UTC, and Monday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

Formats this account uses
Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.
| Format | This account | Catalog effect | 95% interval | Accounts behind it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Image or video | 100% of posts | +111% | +108% to +115% | 34K |
| Outbound link | 0% of posts | -41% | -42% to -40% | 32K |
| Typical length | - | +15% | +14% to +16% | 32K |
- 100% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
- 0% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts.
- Its average post runs 413 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.
These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

There is a lot going on right now on the @Space_Station, but fortunately we are all safe and witnessed a spectacular southern aurora show yesterday thanks to a recent solar event. https://t.co/25XaoMw2Rk

Room with a view. Check out my new digs as I camp out in Dragon until our departure. With Crew-13’s arrival we have a very full house on the @Space_Station. Luke is living in my previous crew quarters, and I’ve pitched a tent in Dragon. https://t.co/z9bpDzq0lN

Starry starry night. Channeling my inner post-impressionism vibes as I experiment with long exposure star trails from the @Space_Station Japanese Experiment Module window. Maybe van Gogh was dreaming in long exposure for his masterpiece. That’s the @JAXA_en external platform (JEF) in the foreground, looking toward the port truss solar arrays on the left. Taken with a Nikon Z9, 14mm lens, 180s exposure.

Our suits are ready and so are we! Join us tomorrow as we conduct our 4th spacewalk in less than a month on-board the @Space_Station. @soph_astro and I will head out for the “Triple Jump” spacewalk, which will include various @Space_Station upgrades. Tune in on NASA+ with coverage starting at 7:00 am ET!

Last week @Soph_astro, @astro_hathaway and I took turns imaging each other’s internal organs for the @CNES EchoFinder-2 experiment. This experiment aims to use augmented reality and artificial intelligence to allow astronauts without medical or ultrasound expertise to perform scans without any support from Earth. This type of technology could prove invaluable for remote medical monitoring scenarios both on Earth and for @NASAArtemis missions to the Moon and Mars.

Our microgravity indicator consists of four satellites orbiting a crocheted Earth, all hand-made elements by Jack’s daughter and my childhood best friend. Each crew member selected a personal symbol or “satellite.” A tether links each satellite to the Earth, representing our connection to our families, friends, and our one shared home. We’ll see this indicator drop as we re-enter Earth’s gravity tomorrow. I chose a panda holding a mushroom, two adorable symbols of environmental importance and cultural fascination. Pandas are modern icons of species preservation and international diplomacy, and a pivotal character in my childhood. Mushrooms, or fungi, are the great decomposers, with all life on earth depending on them to keep our soils healthy and food webs functioning. Jack chose a moon that his daughter hand-crocheted. Each color woven into the design represents a member of their family or a cherished shared activity. By bringing this piece with him, he keeps their bond close, allowing Jack to re-live happy memories while looking forward to the ones they’ll create when he returns. Sophie chose a banana. Bananas are the world’s most common fruit, ordinary fruit shared by billions of people across every continent. Yet on orbit fresh fruit is rare. She wanted with us a playful reminder of kitchens and home—a familiar piece of Earth drifting weightless with us. Andrey chose this thing, because it reminds me of an old space soviet movie. He would invite everyone to try to guess what this is. And we present to you, Planet Gaia and her moons, floating here in Crew-12’s Dragon!

Ain’t nothing gonna break my stride (except for maybe gravity!). Here’s a peek into our first @Space_Station post-flight data collection session, immediately after landing in the helicopter after our @SpaceX Dragon splashdown last Thursday. The heel toe walk with eyes open was doable, but definitely off my balance game once they had me repeat with eyes closed (shown here). Exponentially better performance even just the next day, such an interesting recovery process! Stay tuned for the week’s recap of science and rehabilitation.

- What is Jessica Meir's engagement rate on X?
- Jessica Meir (@Astro_Jessica) has an engagement rate of 0.546%, based on the median interactions across 17 original posts from the last 30 days against 270,632 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
- Is that a good engagement rate?
- At 0.546%, Jessica Meir sits above the 50th percentile of the 217,857 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
- Does @Astro_Jessica have real engagement?
- Its engagement rate beats 86% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (21,624 accounts), which puts it in the top quarter for its size group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
- When does @Astro_Jessica post?
- Most posts go out around 14:00 UTC, and Monday is its busiest day, at roughly 1 posts per day across the measured window.
