A typical post picks up 1.6K interactions against 542K followers, an engagement rate of 0.297%. Measured over 9 original posts, its engagement rate beats 86% of 3,882 tracked accounts of a similar size. Comparing inside a size band matters here: engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly just re-measure the follower count. Posts are seen about 52K times each, and 3.08% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 9.66% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 2.3 posts a day over the last 30 days, though only 17% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 00:00 UTC, and Monday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 9 posts sampled, 67% carry an image or video, 22% are part of a thread and 22% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 4.9K interactions, about 3.0x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #auspol, #cgt.

Compared with accounts its own size

Dave Hughes's engagement rate beats 86% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,882 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 8 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 82% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 0.297%, Dave Hughes sits above the 50th percentile of the 37,459 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the above the median band, which runs 0.081% to 0.438%.

Engagement rate as a share of followers, across the 37,459 accounts we have scanned enough to measure. The axis is logarithmic, because the top and bottom of this population are about 106,523 times apart and a linear axis would flatten everything below the median into a single point.

They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

This has escalated. The Extreme Left think it is impossible that someone could be generous with anything other than other people’s money. My wife is the driving force behind setting these rents. Our inner city Melbourne block of eight two bedroom renovated flats, with undercover parking, are all rented well below market rate, and one is at $120 a week and has been for close to a decade, and one is $150 a week and has been for close to five years. Both of those rented by single parents, one a mum with two kids, one a dad with one kid. Did Albo rent his investment properties, that he sold before tanking the market, at a discount? And if not, why does the Extreme Left paint me as the evil greedy landlord, and him as the hero of the downtrodden? Do you think I’m lying about these rents, and if so, wanna bet? Ps they have never been negative geared.

So someone comments that they hope our block of flats is taken from us and redistributed, I reply to their comment that our tenants wouldn’t like that, as our rents are as low as $120 a week for 2BR inner city apartments with under cover parking. This is all in the comments, not amplified, but my haters, who must have me on alerts, seize upon that comment, assume I’m lying, and have a field day defaming me in their posts. Then they start to realise I’m not lying, and now the likes of former Labor MP for Hawthorn John Kennedy, of the Dan Andrews era, who has been sniping me for months, has blocked me, so I can’t put the spotlight on his gross nasty false post. He publicly stated that I’m lying about being generous, which would be such a fucked thing to do, and when he realises I’m not lying, he disappears. This was how Dan Andrews governed Victoria. Never any accountability. Jacinta Allan was the same. He taught them all. The new guy talks a better game ‘Integrity won’t be optional’, But you just can’t believe Labor. This is why I’m putting in effort to help change the Victorian Government in November. #LaborLast

Anthony Albanese is on his 41st trip to Perth since 2022. Perth is part of Australia. Fine. That doesn’t give you a free pass to treat the place like your personal frequent-flyer lounge. There is zero justification for flying across the country this many times. Zero. Not for “engagement,” not for “governing the whole nation,” not for any of the usual spin. Forty-one trips is a joke at the taxpayer’s expense. Have some bloody respect for the people who actually pay the bills. You’re burning through $1 million a quarter on the government credit card and ordinary Australians are expected to just wear it? We cannot keep up. Families are cutting back, businesses are struggling, and the Prime Minister is racking up another Perth run like it’s nothing. This isn’t leadership. It’s waste. Cut the flights, put the card away, and start treating public money like it actually belongs to the public.

How do you go from $0 to nearly $15 MILLION in property in just a few years while running an NDIS disability support business? That’s one of the biggest questions I uncovered during this investigation. @DrewPavlou @AlboMP, When will you investigate? https://t.co/gdWtlohLLF

The top tax threshold sat at $180,000 back in 2008. Today it sits at $190,000 — a tiny $10,000 increase across 18 years. Meanwhile, inflation over that same period has risen dramatically, meaning the purchasing power of $180,000 back then is roughly equivalent to around $270,000 or more today. The government is making billions from bracket creep.

The new @AlboMP #CGT is economic vandalism. Look it now has a “hidden” levy buried in the new capital gains tax rules which is set to hit $372 billion of superannuation assets despite repeated promises to protect superannuation and retirees. One of Australia’s biggest funds is already demanding an urgent rethink. They said it wouldn’t touch ordinary Australians. They said retirees were carved out. The fine print says otherwise. Another broken promise. Another raid on retirement savings. Another assault on aspiration. Great research Blake Briggs @FinServCouncil . The Suburban Rail Loop is an important project for Victoria. I am making every dollar count while building it. We are announcing $2 billion in savings. This will not slow current works. All current works will continue, and tunnel boring machines will be in the ground soon. Because only Labor is delivering this project that will help Victorians move.

Reading these numbers

A typical post picks up 1.6K interactions against 542K followers, an engagement rate of 0.297%. Measured over 9 original posts, its engagement rate beats 86% of 3,882 tracked accounts of a similar size. Comparing inside a size band matters here: engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly just re-measure the follower count. Posts are seen about 52K times each, and 3.08% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 9.66% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Of the 9 posts sampled, 67% carry an image or video, 22% are part of a thread and 22% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 4.9K interactions, about 3.0x its own typical post. What is Dave Hughes's engagement rate on X?
Dave Hughes (@DHughesy) has an engagement rate of 0.297%, based on the median interactions across 9 original posts from the last 30 days against 541,967 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 0.297%, Dave Hughes sits above the 50th percentile of the 37,459 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
Does @DHughesy have real engagement?
Its engagement rate beats 86% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,882 accounts), which puts it in the top quarter for its size group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
When does @DHughesy post?
Most posts go out around 00:00 UTC, and Monday is its busiest day, at roughly 2.33 posts per day across the measured window.
