In an interview published on July 20th by the German news agency, DW, Judge Nicolas Guillou, a French justice of the International Criminal Court (ICC), described the purpose of the ICC and other courts of justice: “[These are] institutions that are supposed to protect the weakest on this planet….” That is a classic left-wing view of the purpose of judges and courts. It is no wonder the American Founders cited Deuteronomy more than any other biblical book and even more than any secular Enlightenment book. The essence of our current civil war—and it is a civil war—is the Bible vs. Marx.
