Held a meeting with senior officials of MoPNG and leaders of our energy PSUs to review the action taken on the decisions from the 11th Brainstorming Session in Gurugram and the 12th Brainstorming Session in Duliajan, Assam to strengthen India’s energy sector under the visionary leadership of PM Sh. @narendramodi Ji. Discussed the progress in the implementation of the visionary Samudra Manthan, the National Offshore Exploration Scheme to harness India’s offshore energy potential, with an outlay of ₹84,084 crore through FY 2030-31. A year-wise roadmap is now being finalized to drive accelerated drilling, seismic surveys and rig deployment across the KG, Mahanadi, Andaman and Cauvery basins by energy Maharatna companies @ONGC_ and @OilIndiaLimited. Backing this effort is a dedicated ONGC-led JV for drillship capacity, addressing a key infrastructure bottleneck through shared investment and long-term chartering. The landmark five-year agreement between IndianOil and Mauritius’ State Trading Corporation will meet Mauritius’ requirements for petrol, diesel and ATF, strengthening energy security and continuity of supplies and has emerged out of the discussions between the two prime ministers last year. India’s commitment extends beyond assured energy supplies. IndianOil (Mauritius) Limited’s growing presence, including a USD 25 million investment to develop additional bunker-fuel storage at Mer Rouge, will further strengthen Mauritius as a bunkering hub in the western Indian Ocean. Had a very fruitful meeting with H.E. Mr. Patrick Gervais Assirvaden, Minister of Energy and Public Utilities of Mauritius. We discussed how India continues to be a dependable partner and trusted friend of Mauritius, including during times of crisis, and how biofuels can play a central role in strengthening energy security and supporting rural livelihoods. Welcomed the cooperation between the Global Biofuels Alliance Secretariat and Mauritius in developing the Biofuels Country Landscape - Policy Framework, which is an important step towards advancing Mauritius’ energy transition through biofuels.
