IEBC engagement report
@IEBCKenya - 1.0M followers on X
Measured over 46 original posts from a 30-day window, last computed on October 30, 2026.
Engagement
A typical post picks up 22 interactions against 1.0M followers, an engagement rate of 0.002%. Measured over 46 original posts, its engagement rate beats 17% of 21,624 tracked accounts of a similar size. That is a reason to look at how the audience behaves - reply depth, saves, whether the followers are recent - rather than a conclusion about it on its own. Posts are seen about 6.4K times each, and 0.338% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 0.609% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 2.5 posts a day over the last 30 days, with activity on roughly 60% of days. Most posts go out around 13:00 UTC, and Wednesday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 46 posts sampled, 91% carry an image or video, 35% are part of a thread and 22% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 1.6K interactions, about 72x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #2027ge, #17thnovemberbyelection, #theextramile.

Compared with accounts its own size
IEBC's engagement rate beats 17% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (21,624 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 10 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.
On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 23% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.
Where this sits in the catalog
At 0.002%, IEBC sits below the 10th percentile of the 218,393 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the bottom 25% band, which runs below 0.025%.

| Percentile | Engagement rate |

| 75th percentile | 0.705% |
| 90th percentile | 2.63% |

Formats this account uses
Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.

- 91% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
- 22% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts.
- Its average post runs 621 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.
These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

Press Release Response to Allegations and Claims Aired on KTN Teaser on Ongoing Continuous Voter Registration The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) wishes to clarify the following matters concerning the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR). This forms part of the Commission’s commitment to keeping Kenyans informed of its activities, processes and procedures, as well as the applicable legal framework governing election processes in the Eectoral Cycle in preparation for the 2027 General Election. IEBC seeks to promote public awareness, facilitate informed participation in the electoral process and address misinformation, disinformation and misleading narratives that may undermine public confidence in the electoral process. The Commission notes with grave concern the continuous dissemination of misleading and unverified information by sections of the media, groups and individuals, through mainstream and social media platforms, concerning its constitutional mandate and ongoing preparations for the upcoming General Election. In particular, the Commission has witnessed sensationalized reports and unsubstantiated stories regarding the Commission's Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise which is being conducted across all the 290 constituencies throughout the entire Republic. Such reporting risks misleading the public and undermining confidence in the electoral process. The Commission reiterates that the stories on electoral malpractice or illegality relating to the registration of voters, illegal transfers of voters and alleged registration of foreigners as voters in Kenya and abroad remain unsubstantiated and untrue. To date no entity, organization, group or individual has submitted to the Commission any credible evidence supporting any such allegations of illegality and malpractice. Where credible evidence is presented, the Commission shall take appropriate action including disciplinary action, investigation into criminal conduct and where culpability is established, criminal prosecution and punishment shall be undertaken in accordance with the laws of Kenya. The IEBC wishes to clarify to the public that its constitutional mandate under Article 88 of the Constitution is limited to the registration of eligible Kenyan citizens who possess National Identity Cards (IDs) and valid passports and maintenance of the Register of Voters. In addition, IEBC does not issue National IDs or Kenyan passports. These functions fall within the mandate of the relevant State Agencies responsible for identification, citizenship and immigration. Any association or references to IEBC in relation to issuance of IDs or passports is factually incorrect, malicious, intended to misinform and risks misleading the public regarding the respective mandates of the relevant State institutions. Press Release: Misrepresentation by Media on Elections Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026 The Commission’s attention has been drawn to media reports to the effect that the Election Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026 seeks to scrap live streaming of poll results, ban live broadcast of poll results and return the voting system to manual voter identification and transmission of poll results akin to what was used in the 2007 General Election. The Commission wishes to state as follows: 1. The media reports are erroneous and a misrepresentation of the Bill as tabled before Parliament. 2. The Bill does not in any way propose amendment to Section 44 of the Elections Act that provides for the deployment of an Integrated Elections Management System for voter registration, voter identification and results transmission. Instead, it proposes a complementary mechanism for result transmission to address instances where transmission of results is not possible owing to lack of 3G network which is the minimum standard required for transmission of result Forms. 3. The Bill seeks to align the law with the Supreme Court’s decision in the Presidential Election Petition No. 1 of 2017, which affirmed that the election result in the one recorded in the statutory Results Declaration Form (34A Series), the primary and final record of the results at the polling station. Accordingly, the Commission is required to verify the results by comparing the original physical form 34A with the electronically transmitted image of the same form from the polling station. The IEBC remains committed to preserving the integrity, credibility and transparency of the electoral process and ensuring that every election faithfully reflects the sovereign will of the people. Press Release Response to Allegations by Party Leader of the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), Hon. Rigathi Gachagua The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) takes note of reports and headlines published and circulating in mainstream and social media regarding, among others, the ongoing procurement of electoral technology for the upcoming 2027 General Election. The reports follow an unsubstantiated and false statement issued by the Party Leader of the Democracy for Citizens Party, Hon. Rigathi Gachagua, during a press briefing held on Wednesday, 26 August 2026. The Commission welcomes constructive criticism and accountability measures based on the rule of law and laid down procedures as established by the Constitution of Kenya and applicable laws. However, the Commission shall also protect public interest where the allegations are motivated by malice and unjustifiable propaganda aimed at undermining the integrity and credibility of the electoral processes in Kenya. We shall do this by calling out those individuals and entities that have made it a habit to perpetuate harassment, threats and intimidation against the members and staff of the Commission. - What is IEBC's engagement rate on X?
- IEBC (@IEBCKenya) has an engagement rate of 0.002%, based on the median interactions across 46 original posts from the last 30 days against 1,046,141 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
- Is that a good engagement rate?
- At 0.002%, IEBC sits below the 10th percentile of the 218,393 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
- Does @IEBCKenya have real engagement?
- Its engagement rate beats 17% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (21,624 accounts), which puts it in the bottom quarter for its size group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
- When does @IEBCKenya post?
- Most posts go out around 13:00 UTC, and Wednesday is its busiest day, at roughly 2.5 posts per day across the measured window.
