A typical post picks up 489 interactions against 483K followers, an engagement rate of 0.101%. Measured over 11 original posts, its engagement rate beats 67% of 4,104 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 85K times each, and 0.575% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 17.6% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 0.57 post a day over the last 30 days, though only 13% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 19:00 UTC, and Thursday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 11 posts sampled, 64% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 26K interactions, about 53x its own typical post.

Compared with accounts its own size

Pippa Crerar's engagement rate beats 67% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (4,104 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 7 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 36% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 0.101%, Pippa Crerar sits above the 50th percentile of the 39,683 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the above the median band, which runs 0.082% to 0.442%.

This account posts most often around 19:00 UTC, and Thursday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

BREAKING: Pubs, clubs and live music venues will receive 20% cut to their business rates bills from April under Andy Burnham’s plans to support local high streets. New PM says the move will be fully funded including through reviewing reliefs for businesses that don’t make a positive contribution to communities, such as vape shops. Other cost of living announcements this week - capping bus fares at £2 and cutting VAT on electricity bills - have already prompted questions about funding.

I've spoken to some of those with Keir Starmer at The Grafton pub in North London on the day he left office - and while they accept that politics is a tough business - there is some residual anger over the reshuffle. They argue that by sacking so many loyalists Andy Burnham has unnecessarily created a faction that could prove a thorn in his side - former chief sec to the PM Darren Jones has already been so. There is also a sense that more senior male No 10 staff than female staff had survived in the new regime. Just one of the four great offices of state is now held by a woman, down from three. Others, however, tell @peterwalker99 it's obvious that a new PM would want to bring in his own people and that the changes were handled sensitively - with Burnham calling outgoing ministers himself & special advisers given chance to discuss their futures. But one warns: "It's less a purge of Starmerites than getting rid of people who were loyal to a Labour leader, while promoting people who were serially disloyal. That’s a dangerous message to send your MPs.”

Andy Burnham appears to be scratching his head over reports that he's actively considering scrapping stamp duty and council tax 😕 "I can say that quite clearly: that won't be happening. I don't know actually where some of the stories that have, appeared over the last 24 hours have come from," he says. "It seems that somebody within, I don't know, 100 yards of me could say something, and then all of a sudden, it's my policy. Or someone can pass me something, and then I support everything within the document. "It's just not the case that we are bringing forward plans, on that scale, at this moment in time. So I'm quite happy to give you that clarification."

A good spot from our @JoshHalliday on one of most significant consequences of Andy Burnham’s devolution plans… that predictable revenue streams would let combined authorities take out 30-year loans against projected income to fund major projects. Under the plans, mayors will keep a share of income tax generated in their area from 2028, as well as business rates totalling tens of millions of pounds by April 2027. As they’re currently prevented from funding huge initiatives on housing and transport because they can’t take out private loans on basis of one-year funding settlements from Whitehall, this more predictable revenue has potential to make big difference. https://t.co/FawFYwz6cQ

BREAKING: Andy Burnham has paused the early prisoner release scheme due to start in September. “No prisoners will be let out under this policy until we have conducted an urgent review and done everything we can to minimise risk to the public. Where changes are needed, we will not hesitate to make them," he says. Unlike emergency measures in early months of the Labour government - in which tens of thousands of prisoners were released as prisons ran out of space - new law included no exemptions for those convicted of serious crimes, domestic abuse or terrorism. Huge ongoing problem over prison capacity - last Tory government only added 500 prison places over their 14 years in office, while over last few decades sentences have got much longer.

Reading these numbers

What is Pippa Crerar's engagement rate on X?
Pippa Crerar (@PippaCrerar) has an engagement rate of 0.101%, based on the median interactions across 11 original posts from the last 30 days against 483,328 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 0.101%, Pippa Crerar sits above the 50th percentile of the 39,683 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
Does @PippaCrerar have real engagement?
Its engagement rate beats 67% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (4,104 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
When does @PippaCrerar post?
Most posts go out around 19:00 UTC, and Thursday is its busiest day, at roughly 0.57 posts per day across the measured window.
