Querétaro siempre llega a tiempo a su cita con la historia. Me preguntaron mucho sobre el lugar donde tuvimos nuestra Asamblea Informativa en Defensa de la Transformación, y quiero decirles que no fue elegido al azar. En este lugar, hace 159 años, el ejército republicano de Benito Juárez puso fin a los días de sitio de la ciudad y derrotó al Segundo Imperio de Maximiliano de Habsburgo. Fue ahí donde México defendió su soberanía frente a la intervención extranjera. En ese mismo muro aún pueden verse las marcas del combate. Ayer, en ese mismo sitio, nos reunimos a defender de nuevo la soberanía nacional, con la misma convicción. Querétaro siempre ha sabido estar del lado correcto de la historia.

El Dr. Jaime Cárdenas fue recientemente nombrado Investigador Emérito del Sistema Nacional de Investigadoras e Investigadores, la distinción más alta que existe en México para quienes dedican su vida a generar conocimiento.
