Frente a los ataques que está recibiendo Blyde: Gerardo Blyde es un abogado constitucionalista de primer nivel, ejerció el liderazgo político de dos importantes partidos, y fue excelente negociador. Me tocó compartir con él la representación de la AN, junto con Stalin González y Fernando Martínez Mottola en las primeras negociaciones de Oslo-Barbados. Fue un extraordinario tribuno y trabajador por los intereses del país y de la oposición. Y luego compartimos en diferentes espacios de apoyo a la las luchas democráticas. Sobre su Periodo parlamentario un altísimo dirigente chavista también parlamentario me dijo que cuando tomaba la palabra Gerardo o Henry Ramos la orden era sacar papel y lápiz para anotar y aprender. Eso opino, eso se. Si alguien tiene otra opinión es su derecho. Esta es la mía. Tristemente este es el país donde se machaca gratuitamente la reputación de cualquiera y luego se pegan en el linchamiento los odiadores de oficio.

Ya nadie en Venezuela puede hablar sin que lo encasillen al instante. Señalas al gobierno en plena emergencia y te tachan de oportunista que está politizando la tragedia. Pides enfocarte primero en la gente antes de buscar culpables y eres un tibio que le lava la cara al régimen. No hay forma de decir las cosas sin que te metan en un bando, y creo que esa es una de las cosas que más jode de un país roto, que terminamos sin saber hablarnos ni siquiera cuando nos está doliendo lo mismo a todos. Que esto es un Estado fallido hay que darlo por descontado, y sabemos perfectamente quién es el responsable. Media tragedia de ayer, lo que apenas está ocurriendo hoy y lo que viene no pasa ni pasaría en un país que funcione. No es mala suerte ni es solo la naturaleza: es el resultado de años de un régimen que se robó hasta los insumos de los hospitales, que desmanteló cada institución que debía protegernos y dejó al país sin con qué responder cuando llega el golpe. Y eso no se discute, no hay matiz que valga ahí. Y aun así hay una línea que importa. Una cosa es decir lo que pasa, con sus responsables y todo, y otra es agarrar la tragedia y acomodarla. Eso lo hacemos un montón, y al final ni siquiera le sirve a la gente que decimos querer ayudar. Esto lo veo claro porque lo estoy viviendo como muchos venezolanos HOY: tengo gente cercana que a esta hora todavía no sabe nada de los suyos. Desde ahí creo que deberíamos entender que hoy TODO nuestro enfoque debería ir a lo INMEDIATO, a sacar personas, ubicarlas, apoyarlas con lo que tengamos. El resto no se va a ningún lado, va a estar ahí mañana y lo vamos a discutir completo. Pero no es lo primero ahora mismo. O al menos eso creo. Sospecho que reconstruir el país no va a ser solo cambiar el gobierno y levantar lo que se vino abajo. También es esto, dejar de tratarnos como enemigos cada vez que abrimos la boca. Y sobre todo en un contexto como este, donde discutir para ganar un punto, con la gente todavía bajo los escombros, debería darnos algo de vergüenza.

Hoy se inicia formalmente un nuevo intento de lograr acuerdos entre oposición y gobierno. Esta vez con el decidido apoyo del gobierno de EEUU. No siempre ha sido así. Ojala tenga todo el éxito que tanto requiere este atormentado país. El extraordinario pueblo de Venezuela, merece resultados lo más rápido posibles pero con la mirada puesta no solo en las dramáticas urgencias (de toda índole) actuales sino también en los históricos desafíos de un futuro tan esperanzador como amenazante. Todo mi respaldo al esfuerzo, pendiente como todos de los avances y resultados.
