World Health Organization (WHO) engagement report
@WHO - 13M followers on X
Measured over 98 original posts from a 30-day window, last computed on August 31, 2026.
Engagement
A typical post picks up 238 interactions against 13M followers, an engagement rate of 0.002%. Measured over 98 original posts, its engagement rate beats 24% of 3,739 tracked accounts of a similar size. That is a reason to look at how the audience behaves - reply depth, saves, whether the followers are recent - rather than a conclusion about it on its own. Posts are seen about 77K times each, and 0.308% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 0.612% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 4.8 posts a day over the last 30 days, with activity on almost every day in the window. Most posts go out around 09:00 UTC, and Wednesday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 98 posts sampled, 95% carry an image or video and 28% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 1.6K interactions, about 6.6x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #ebola, #drc, #worldhumanitarianday.

Compared with accounts its own size
World Health Organization (WHO)'s engagement rate beats 24% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,739 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 10 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.
On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 28% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.
Where this sits in the catalog
At 0.002%, World Health Organization (WHO) sits above the 10th percentile of the 36,261 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the bottom 25% band, which runs below 0.012%.

Posting timing
This account posts most often around 09:00 UTC, and Wednesday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

Vaccines have saved more than 150 million lives since 1974 — not by accident, but because ordinary people made the decision to protect themselves, their children and one another. That’s 6 lives every minute, every day, for more than 5 decades. #VaccinesWork Your decision makes a difference. Get vaccinated.

Every parent wants to keep their children safe, and vaccines are among the most powerful tools for doing that, making deadly diseases preventable. @WHO is concerned that recent changes to US immunization policy are not aligned with decades of evidence that show when children are most vulnerable to disease, when vaccines provide the strongest protection, how many doses are needed, and which vaccines can be given together safely. That evidence is reviewed continuously as new data emerge from across the globe. The current evidence is unequivocal: vaccines - including the MMR vaccine - are safe and do not cause autism. Delaying vaccines or separating doses unnecessarily does not make vaccination safer and can leave children unprotected. Global evidence and recommendations, including from @WHO, inform national experts, who consider local disease patterns, health systems and population needs, to determine which vaccines and schedules are best for their country. Vaccination policy should be guided by rigorous, independent and transparent review of the best available science, not by political influence.

Nothing online is really free. When you're not paying with money, you're usually paying with attention, and that shapes almost everything you see. Feeds don't show you what's most useful, they show you what's most likely to keep you watching. That doesn’t mean you log off for good. It means to notice the pull, question why something is in front of you and decide for yourself what's worth your time. Awareness is the first step to using platforms on your own terms.

Last Friday, the @WHO humanitarian warehouse in Dnipro, #Ukraine, was struck and destroyed. At this time, no casualties have been reported. A WHO staff member and drivers had been on site earlier in the day supporting the evacuation of supplies. The team had succeeded in evacuating 130 of approximately 300 pallets and left the area before the attack. The warehouse held humanitarian medical supplies intended for frontline health facilities — primarily WHO emergency health supplies. I cannot say loudly enough: attacks on health care MUST STOP. Otherwise, people are deprived of lifesaving healthcare. Even wars have rules. One of those is that health must be protected!

- What is World Health Organization (WHO)'s engagement rate on X?
- World Health Organization (WHO) (@WHO) has an engagement rate of 0.002%, based on the median interactions across 98 original posts from the last 30 days against 12,670,579 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
- Is that a good engagement rate?
- At 0.002%, World Health Organization (WHO) sits above the 10th percentile of the 36,261 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
- Does @WHO have real engagement?
- Its engagement rate beats 24% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,739 accounts), which puts it in the bottom quarter for its size group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
- When does @WHO post?
- Most posts go out around 09:00 UTC, and Wednesday is its busiest day, at roughly 4.8 posts per day across the measured window.
