Currently somebody can arrive from India, Bangladesh or Pakistan tomorrow and immediately be eligible to vote in a British election. Under a Reform UK Government that will end, because British elections should be for British people. Right now, in many parts of the country, elections have been captured by foreign conflicts and sectarian interests, not by what is best for Britain. Reform UK will not stand by while our political system is undermined. We will stop parties from publishing election leaflets in foreign languages. And we will crack down on family voting by prohibiting more than one person from entering the voting booth. When parliament returns next week, @danny__kruger will be tabling amendments to deliver this fix. It will be telling to see who supports it. It should not be controversial to say Britain should be run in the interests of the British people.

Seven people, including two police officers, died in the horrific Middlesbrough crash. We’re still learning the full details. Twelve people have been arrested in relation to organised crime and the crash. I have to point out, however, that 4 of the 5 people in the car driving the wrong way down the A66 - the car that killed the two police officers - had prior criminal convictions. In fact, they had 37 prior convictions between them. For drugs offences, stealing cars, racial abuse, assaulting police officers, and knife possession. It’s not clear that any has served a single day in prison. Two police officers are dead. PC Blades, a loved husband and father to two young boys. This year, he was going to coach his son’s football team. And PC Tom Clough, a former soldier who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. His family described him as “our hero.” I for one am angry. Angry at the gangsters, and yes also their minions, who terrorise the rest of us and get away with it. And angry at our leaders for failing us, and making our police officers’ lives a living hell. I promise you this. Reform UK will end this carnage. We will restore law and order in this country.
