🗣️ Con relación al sismo ocurrido hoy, 10 de agosto, a las a. m., con epicentro en San José del Palmar, Chocó, el Servicio Geológico Colombiano informa que el evento tuvo una magnitud de 7,4 y una profundidad de aproximadamente 103 km, convirtiéndose en el sismo de mayor magnitud registrado en Colombia durante la última década. Este evento ha sido ampliamente sentido en diferentes regiones del país y en países vecinos como Venezuela, Ecuador y Panamá. Hasta el momento, se han registrado dos réplicas, de magnitudes 2,8 y 4,8, esta última ampliamente sentida. Por ahora, se han recibido reportes de afectaciones en algunos sectores, entre ellos Manizales y Armenia, información que continúa siendo verificada por las autoridades competentes. Es importante señalar que la actividad sísmica registrada en esta zona responde a la dinámica tectónica natural del occidente colombiano, asociada, entre otros procesos, a la subducción de la placa de Nazca bajo la placa Suramericana. Por esta razón, esta región ha presentado sismos de magnitud considerable a lo largo de su historia. Entre los antecedentes históricos se encuentra el sismo ocurrido el 23 de noviembre de 1979, con una magnitud de 7,2.
