BOSS IMPERSONATION SCAM: ₹1 CRORE SECURED WITHIN DAYS; SWIFT COURT AND CYBERABAD POLICE ACTION PAVES WAY FOR FULL REFUND @CyberCrimesCyb arrested Deepak Kumar, aged 37 years, engaged in a water-plant business and a resident of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, in connection with a Rs.1 crore cyber-fraud case involving impersonation through a forged WhatsApp profile. On 04.08.2026, the accountant of a saree retail outlet received a financial request through a forged WhatsApp profile, which he believed to be that of the proprietor. Acting on the request, he transferred ₹1,00,00,000/- from the victim's Karur Vysya Bank account to an IndusInd Bank account. During the investigation, Cyberabad Cyber Crime Police found that the fraudulently transferred amount had been routed through a corporate current account maintained in the name of Royal Moda Pvt. Ltd., which was allegedly being used as a mule account for routing fraudulent proceeds. Deepak Kumar was traced to Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, and arrested on 08.08.2026. He was produced before the competent Court at Lucknow, where transit remand was obtained. He was thereafter brought to Cyberabad and produced before the Hon'ble IX Additional Metropolitan Magistrate, Kukatpally, Cyberabad, who remanded him to judicial custody. Through prompt police action and timely under the guidance of Hon’ble PDJ Ranga Reddyintervention of theHon’ble I Additional Junior Civil Judge-cum- IX Additional Judicial Magistrate of First Class,Ranga Reddy at Kukatpally have passed appropriate orders with in 1 day for securing/restoration of the fraudulently transferred amount. Consequently, the entire fraudulent amount of ₹1 crore was secured and restored to the victim on 14.08.2026, within 10 days of the occurrence and in accordance with due legal process. Further analysis through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP) revealed linkages between the accused's bank account and cyber-crime cases registered in other States. Further investigation is in progress to identify the remaining accused persons, ascertain their respective roles and trace the complete money trail. The case was investigated by Inspector A. Manmohan, SI Srinivasulu and their team, under the guidance of Ms. K. Pushpa, DCP, Cyber Crimes, Cyberabad, and under the supervision of A. Ravindar Reddy, ACP, Cyber Crimes, Cyberabad. CYBERABAD POLICE ADVISORY 1) Verify every high-value financial request through an independent communication channel before transferring funds. 2) Do not rely solely on WhatsApp messages, profile pictures or display names to verify the identity of a person making a financial request. 3) Do not install unknown APK files or applications received through WhatsApp or other messaging platforms. 4) In case of financial cyber fraud, immediately call 1930 or report the incident through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP) to facilitate prompt action for securing the defrauded funds. Citizens are advised to exercise caution and independently verify all unusual or urgent requests for transfer of money, particularly those received through digital communication platforms. The brief facts of the case are that on 05.09.2021, Meedinti Manamma reported that her daughter, Meedinti Suvarna, had been missing since the previous night. Suvarna, who worked housekeeping at Vishal Mart, was last seen leaving for work and was expected to return home later. When she did not return, Manamma searched for her and learned from a local that Suvarna’s body was found dead with injuries and belongings missing in Vidhyuth Valley Layout. Investigation revealed the accused, Dommari Raju, had a close relationship with Suvarna and was involved in her murder. CCTV footage showed the accused and deceased travelling together on a motorcycle to the crime scene. During the course of investigation it was revealed that the accused confessed to killing Suvarna after an argument, forcibly hitting her and throttling her to death. He then stole her gold and mobile phone and disposed of evidence to avoid detection. Call data records confirmed communication and presence at key locations. Post-mortem confirmed death due to smothering, throttling, and blunt chest injuries. The accused was arrested on 22-09-2021 and after completion of investigation, a charge sheet was filed. After a full-fledged trial, Hon’ble Xth Additional District Sessions Court, RR District at Rajendranagar convicted the accused person and imposed the above sentence. 🚨 GACHIBOWLI POLICE RESCUE TWO MINOR CHILDREN WITHIN 4 HOURS Gachibowli Police, Serilingampally Zone, Cyberabad, swiftly detected a kidnapping case and safely rescued two minor children, aged 4 years and 3½ years, within four hours of receiving the complaint. On 25.08.2026, Sri Devid Murmu, S/o Lakhan Murmu, aged 46 years, Labourer, resident of Labour Camp, Kondapur, reported that his daughter Pramila Murmu (4) and another labourer's daughter Sangeeta Hemaram (3½) had gone missing from the labour camp. Based on the complaint, special teams were formed and alerts were circulated to police stations and railway authorities. Through technical investigation, coordinated efforts and railway surveillance, the children were traced near Ghatkesar Railway Station. The accused, Chaku Soren, S/o Munshi Soren, aged 45 years, resident of Labour Camp, beside CHIREC Public School, Gachibowli, was apprehended and both children were safely rescued and subsequently handed over to their parents/guardians as per procedure. The accused's antecedents and disclosures regarding his involvement in other offences are being verified. 👮♂️ The swift response, technical investigation and coordination by Gachibowli Police and SOT, Serilingampally Zone ensured the safe rescue of both children within four hours.
