Engagement
Early reading. We have captured 2 original posts for this account, below the 8 we require before treating a median as settled. The numbers above describe what we have seen so far, not a finished profile of the account.
A typical post picks up 1.0K interactions against 774K followers, an engagement rate of 0.13%. Posts are seen about 54K times each, and 1.87% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 6.98% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 0.3 posts a day over the last 30 days, though only 17% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 06:00 UTC, and Wednesday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 2 posts sampled, 100% carry an image or video. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 50K interactions, about 50x its own typical post. Only 2 original posts have been captured so far, fewer than the 8 posts we want behind a median before treating it as settled. Read the figures above as an early measurement of this account, not as a finished profile of it.

I visited the southernmost tip of India. I stood at Indira Point. I walked under trees that have stood for centuries. I dove into coral reefs among the most vibrant on earth. And I sat with the people who live there. Tribal communities, whose land is being taken away by violating the Forest Rights Act. Settlers, many of them former soldiers, placed on these islands by the Indian government, who aren’t getting fair compensation. The Modi government and BJP tells you Great Nicobar Project is about defence. It is not. Expand INS Baaz - we will back the government fully. The Navy has been asking for expansion for five years - it has been ignored. They tell you it is about a transhipment port. It is not. India is already building one in Kerala, which is on the mainland. What it actually is: 1.5 crore trees felled. Coral reefs erased from official maps. Soldiers and tribals displaced - so one businessman can build hotels and casinos on India’s most irreplaceable ecological land. Every young Indian I have spoken to understands this. You know that no amount of profit is worth destroying what can never be recovered. I stand for ecologically balanced development. These islands can be the most extraordinary sustainable destination the world has ever seen. That is the India worth fighting for. #GreenOverGreed #NicobarMatters #WorldEnvironmentDay

Karnataka is set to become the first state in India to bring menopause into its public health system. Indian women reach menopause at around 46- nearly five years earlier than the global average of 51. Most go through it without ever being told what is happening to them. Dr Jyotsna Mirlay and I met the Hon’ble Health Minister, Shri U.T. Khader @utkhader What struck me most was his openness. Menopause is not an easy subject to raise in a government meeting, and it is rare to find someone who listens without discomfort and grasps immediately why it matters. He did not need convincing that the gap exists. An expert committee has been constituted, to be chaired by Dr Mirlay, bringing in the Indian Menopause Society along with nutrition and psychiatry. What is proposed: – Public awareness on perimenopause and menopause – Menopause screening built into Gruha Arogya, which already reaches every woman over 30 – Breast and bone health screening at taluk/district level – Nutrition and lifestyle guidance as first-line care – Training for ASHAs, ANMs and Medical Officers – A dedicated midlife women’s health clinic, held monthly/weekly The Minister has also indicated he will take this to the Central Government, so that other states can follow. I came to this trying to understand my own body better. I met Dr Mirlay, and we found we agreed on the thing that matters most-women deserve to know what is happening to them- and that has to reach rural Karnataka, not only the cities. Grateful to the Minister for hearing it, and for moving.

The fact that the government is urging citizens to cut discretionary consumption -fuel, travel, edible oil, gold reflects economic strain and pressure on imports and inflation. It contrasts with the confidence India projected during the 2008 crisis under Manmohan Singh, when India appeared more economically resilient despite a global meltdown. Manmohan Singh handled the economy with maturity and confidence. In 1967, when Indira Gandhi asked people not to buy gold, India was barely 20 years after independence- still a poor developing country dealing with shortages and economic constraints. That made sense in that historical context. But a major economy in 2026 making similar appeals suggests economic stress - failure of the Modi Govt

Another first for India- In pursuit of seamless care for women met the Hon’ble Minister for Medical Education and Skill Development, Dr Sharanaprakash Patil @S_PrakashPatil today and submitted our recommendations on menopause in medical, nursing education & allied health professionals. He has agreed to all of them- being a doctor himself, he understood the need. A chapter on perimenopause and menopause in the MBBS and nursing curricula. A Fellowship programme — India has no formal menopause qualification today, and Karnataka will create the first. And a certified module for serving Medical Officers, who are the doctors most women will actually see. A committee will be constituted to design the curriculum. Further details will follow from the Ministry. Why this matters- last week the Health Ministry agreed to screen women for menopause through Gruha Arogya. Identifying women is only useful if there is someone trained to help them. This is the other half. And it creates work. A credentialled menopause specialist does not exist in India today. These doctors can be absorbed at taluk and district level, in government and private hospitals, in a field where demand is rising fast and there is no trained workforce to meet it. Also in the meeting with me UT Ifthi, Chairman- Karnataka Allied & Healthcare professionals & syndicate member RGUHS, Dr Vikram & Dr Jyotsna Mirlay
