Elon Musk engagement report
@elonmusk - 242M followers on X
Measured over 148 original posts from a 30-day window, last computed on August 31, 2026.
Engagement
A typical post picks up 2.9K interactions against 242M followers, an engagement rate of 0.001%. Measured over 148 original posts, its engagement rate beats 20% of 3,716 tracked accounts of a similar size. That is a reason to look at how the audience behaves - reply depth, saves, whether the followers are recent - rather than a conclusion about it on its own. Posts are seen about 2.2M times each, and 0.132% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 0.901% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 22.7 posts a day over the last 30 days, with activity on roughly 70% of days. Most posts go out around 16:00 UTC, and Thursday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 148 posts sampled, 63% carry an image or video and 18% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 142K interactions, about 49x its own typical post.

Compared with accounts its own size
Elon Musk's engagement rate beats 20% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,716 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 10 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.
On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 12% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.
Where this sits in the catalog
At 0.001%, Elon Musk sits below the 10th percentile of the 36,134 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the bottom 25% band, which runs below 0.012%.

Posting timing
This account posts most often around 16:00 UTC, and Thursday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

73% of women on the titanic survived. Only 19% of men did. Read that again. Even the richest men alive, class, power, status, all useless when the ship started sinking. Hierarchy collapsed. Gender didn’t. “Women and children first” Not a suggestion. A rule men didn’t break. Men stood there. No panic No begging. Just accepted it. They didn’t ask: “Do I know her?” “Is she worth it?” “Will she remember me?” No one asked if it was fair. No camera. No applause. No second chances. Zero return. Full cost. Understand this: When survival gets limited, a man’s life becomes negotiable. Men like that built the world. And today? Masculinity gets mocked. Call it whatever you want. But when everything collapsed, men paid first. This isn’t opinion. This is history.

Does anyone remember this amazing story? On July 2, 1982, a truck driver from California flew 16,000 feet into the sky in a lawn chair. Larry Walters, 33, from San Pedro, had dreamed of flying his whole life. He bought 42 eight-foot helium weather balloons, tied them to a regular Sears lawn chair, strapped on a parachute, packed a BB gun to pop balloons to descend, a CB radio, sandwiches, and a six-pack of beer. He expected to float a few hundred feet above his backyard. He cut the rope and shot up like a rocket — to 16,000 feet. He drifted directly into the main approach path for LAX. Two airline pilots radioed the tower: they had just passed a man in a lawn chair holding a gun at 16,000 feet. For 45 minutes, he floated over Los Angeles, freezing cold, too scared to shoot balloons because he might fall. Finally, he started popping balloons one by one and slowly descended. He landed tangled in power lines in Long Beach, California, causing a blackout. When police arrested him, they asked why he did it. He said, "A man can't just sit around." The FAA fined him $4,000. He became a national folk hero — Lawnchair Larry — and inspired the movie Up.

Government-owned airports cannot favor one religion over all others. DFW plans to install Islamic wudu washing facilities are illegal. I've directed a review of all state grants to both airports for possible revocation, and referred DFW & IAH to USDOT for investigation. Texas will not allow illegal religious discrimination at taxpayer-funded facilities.

- What is Elon Musk's engagement rate on X?
- Elon Musk (@elonmusk) has an engagement rate of 0.001%, based on the median interactions across 148 original posts from the last 30 days against 241,531,471 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
- Is that a good engagement rate?
- At 0.001%, Elon Musk sits below the 10th percentile of the 36,134 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
- Does @elonmusk have real engagement?
- Its engagement rate beats 20% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,716 accounts), which puts it in the bottom quarter for its size group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
- When does @elonmusk post?
- Most posts go out around 16:00 UTC, and Thursday is its busiest day, at roughly 22.73 posts per day across the measured window.
