Fitsum Arega engagement report
@fitsumaregaa - 558K followers on X
Measured over 12 original posts from a 30-day window, last computed on August 27, 2026.
Engagement
A typical post picks up 104 interactions against 558K followers, an engagement rate of 0.019%. Measured over 12 original posts, its engagement rate beats 42% of 3,774 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 10K times each, and 1.01% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 1.85% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 0.87 post a day over the last 30 days, with activity on roughly 53% of days. Most posts go out around 21:00 UTC, and Sunday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 12 posts sampled, 100% carry an image or video and 50% are part of a thread. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 285 interactions, about 2.7x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #ethiopia, #greenlegacy, #addisababa.

Compared with accounts its own size
Fitsum Arega's engagement rate beats 42% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,774 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 8 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.
On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 52% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.
Where this sits in the catalog
At 0.019%, Fitsum Arega sits above the 25th percentile of the 36,521 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the below the median band, which runs 0.012% to 0.08%.

So many #Ethiopians are visiting home during this season. It was a great pleasure to meet William Alatalo and his mom, Mimi Alatalo, here in #addisababa and have wonderful conversation. William is a talented GT and Formula 3 racer and a second generation Ethiopian from the diaspora. His future is bright, and I wish him every success as he continues to proudly represent both #Ethiopia 🇪🇹 and #Finland 🇫🇮! @AlataloWilliam

A new chapter has been written in Ethiopia’s peace and nation building journey. After 40 days of deliberations at the Addis International Convention Center, nearly 4,000 delegates to the Historic National Dialogue Conference, by acclamation, officially submitted almost 400 recommendations to the Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission, making the peaceful conclusion of both the conference and a five year national dialogue process. Congratulations! This is not the end, it is a beginning of a new chapter toward national consensus, lasting peace, and a stronger #Ethiopia. 🇪🇹 Grateful for the Almighty for guiding this historic achievement!

This morning, I joined our Prime Minister @AbiyAhmedAli’s #GreenLegacy campaign to plant fruit and other indigenous tree seedlings in #addisababa as part of the ambitious goal of planting 800 million trees in a single day across #Ethiopia. Despite the rain, the momentum is unstoppable. The campaign runs from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm today, a truly extraordinary national effort for a greener future. Let today’s action become tomorrow’s legacy! @Mustafe_M_Omer

Today, the Ethiopian Diaspora Service, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, organized a special visit to the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) for diaspora members who have participated in the National Dialogue Conference for the past 3 weeks, and supported the #GERD through fundraising, advocacy, and international awareness. For many, it was an exciting first visit to the GERD. During their visit, the diaspora members commended the leadership, commitment, and determination in overcoming the challenges, mobilizing resources, and completing and connecting the GERD to the national grid. The GERD was completed, inaugurated, and became operational last September. Today, approximately 50% of Ethiopia’s power generation comes from the GERD, and within just one year, thousands of villages have been connected to electricity, transforming lives and creating new opportunities for communities across the country.

#Ethiopia proudly welcomed 120 second-generation #Ethiopian diaspora youth and their families from Canada, led by former Ethiopian national soccer star and Coach Ashenafi Girma. Beyond a football tournament, they explored the Adwa Museum, Entoto Park, and landmarks across Addis Ababa, reconnecting with Ethiopia’s history, culture, and heritage. For many, it was more than a visit, it was a journey of identity and belonging.

Healing Hearts, Growing Hope! Thank you to team Heart Attack Ethiopia Inc and partners for joining #Ethiopia’s Green Legacy campaign in #AddisAbaba. While saving lives through their medical mission, the team also participated to building a healthier and greener future. Our sincere appreciation goes to the @MoA_Ethiopia for providing indigenous tree seedlings that will support food security, watershed restoration, and environmental protection. “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.” Let’s all take part, plant a tree today and leave a lasting legacy tomorrow.

Congratulations on the inauguration of the Entoto-Kebena Riverside Development. As many cities struggle with pollution, heat waves, floods, and other environmental challenges, #addisababa is becoming greener, more resilient, more livable. Appreciation to the leadership, the dedicated implementers, and the community for making this transformation possible. #Ethiopia

A warm welcome to Heart Attack Ethiopia team! Based in Atlanta, US, @HeartAEthiopia has been providing life-saving cardiac care to #Ethiopians through dedicated medical missions. Now on their 5th mission, they have arrived in #AddisAbaba with a team of 55 healthcare professionals to provide free heart treatment for 200 patients. This inspiring initiative reflects the extraordinary contribution for our diaspora through expertise, companion and service. We encourage everyone to support this noble mission through moral support or donations. “Fixing one person’s heart may not change the world, but it changes that person’s world forever.” Thank you Dr. @TTelila, @drmerid & team Heart Attack Ethiopia for giving hope, restoring health & saving lives! #Ethiopia

- What is Fitsum Arega's engagement rate on X?
- Fitsum Arega (@fitsumaregaa) has an engagement rate of 0.019%, based on the median interactions across 12 original posts from the last 30 days against 558,122 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
- Is that a good engagement rate?
- At 0.019%, Fitsum Arega sits above the 25th percentile of the 36,521 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
- Does @fitsumaregaa have real engagement?
- Its engagement rate beats 42% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,774 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
- When does @fitsumaregaa post?
- Most posts go out around 21:00 UTC, and Sunday is its busiest day, at roughly 0.87 posts per day across the measured window.
