What a thrill to share such a special experience at St. Andrews, the Home of Golf, where the 18-hole game as we know it began in 1764. I shot 71, even with a double bogey on the famous Road Hole at the 17th. At 90 years young, what a blessing to continue playing this great game on the most famous golf course in the world. Many congratulations to Ryan Fox on an outstanding victory and becoming Champion Golfer of the Year! The Open once again reminded us why golf is so special, where for Ryan, years of hard work, sacrifice and perseverance can culminate in one quick, life-changing putt at age 39. He was ready for his moment, and the 72nd hole was a masterclass in precision, courage and determination. I know his family is so very proud he is bringing home the Claret Jug.
