Geoff Keighley engagement report
@geoffkeighley - 3.9M followers on X
Measured over 86 original posts from a 30-day window, last computed on August 31, 2026.
Engagement
A typical post picks up 7.4K interactions against 3.9M followers, an engagement rate of 0.19%. Measured over 86 original posts, its engagement rate beats 91% of 3,739 tracked accounts of a similar size. Comparing inside a size band matters here: engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly just re-measure the follower count. Posts are seen about 357K times each, and 2.06% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 9.15% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 4.1 posts a day over the last 30 days, with activity on almost every day in the window. Most posts go out around 16:00 UTC, and Thursday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 86 posts sampled, 85% carry an image or video and 13% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 110K interactions, about 15x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #openingnightlive, #gamescom, #d23.

Compared with accounts its own size
Geoff Keighley's engagement rate beats 91% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,739 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 10 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.
On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 77% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.
Where this sits in the catalog
At 0.19%, Geoff Keighley sits above the 50th percentile of the 36,134 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the above the median band, which runs 0.08% to 0.431%.

This account posts most often around 16:00 UTC, and Thursday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

At the David Keighley Theater, I watched Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” (shot entirely with IMAX® film cameras) presented in 70mm IMAX® film. Rather than simply watching the screen, I felt as though I was there the entire time. It was more than watching it, I witnessed it. The impact was close to what I felt when I was in elementary school student and when I first experienced the “Cinerama” at the “Osaka OS Theater.” Back then, I was used to watching everything on a CRT television, and the sense of immersion was unlike anything I had ever experienced. It brought back those memories. In hindsight, not having Japanese subtitles may have made the experience even better. I already knew the story well, having grown up watching the 1954 Kirk Douglas version and several black-and-white adaptations, but this was an entirely different experience. For me, it was an Odyssey unlike anything I had ever experienced. Despite the enormous 1.43:1 screen, Christopher Nolan and Hoyte van Hoytema’s cinematography brings us remarkably close to the actors’ faces. Through an exceptionally shallow depth of field and elegant pull-focus shots that shifts our attention to the finest details, they relentlessly follow the characters’ anguish and fate. The cast delivers performances powerful enough to withstand every bit of that extraordinary resolution. Nolan’s signature storytelling, with its meticulously interwoven timelines, is very much present here as well. Together, these elements elevate one of the world’s best-known classical epics into an intimate, deep human drama. It was magnificent. When it opens in Japan this September, it will be shown in digital IMAX®, but I have no doubt I’ll be making the “journey back” several more times.

- What is Geoff Keighley's engagement rate on X?
- Geoff Keighley (@geoffkeighley) has an engagement rate of 0.19%, based on the median interactions across 86 original posts from the last 30 days against 3,899,885 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
- Is that a good engagement rate?
- At 0.19%, Geoff Keighley sits above the 50th percentile of the 36,134 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
- Does @geoffkeighley have real engagement?
- Its engagement rate beats 91% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,739 accounts), which puts it in the top 10% for its size group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
- When does @geoffkeighley post?
- Most posts go out around 16:00 UTC, and Thursday is its busiest day, at roughly 4.07 posts per day across the measured window.
