Van’ın Ayanis Köyü’nde, Urartu Kralı II. Rusa tarafından yaptırılan muhteşem Ayanis Kalesi’ndeki arkeolojik kazıları yerinde görme ve inceleme fırsatı buldum. Kazı çalışmalarına başkanlık eden Atatürk Üniversitesi'nden kıymetli hocamız Prof. Dr. Mehmet Işıklı’yı ve çalışma arkadaşlarını, büyük bir titizlik ve özveriyle yürüttükleri çalışmalardan dolayı yürekten tebrik ediyorum. Kazılarla yakından ilgilenen, gerekli lojistik ve mali desteği sağlayan Van Valimiz Sayın Ozan Balcı’ya (@valiozanbalci75 ) ve Kültür ve Turizm Bakanımız Sayın Mehmet Nuri Ersoy’a (@MehmetNuriErsoy) da hassaten teşekkür ediyorum. Özellikle bazalt kesme taşlardan inşa edilen kale surlarının bütünüyle gün yüzüne çıkarılmasının ardından Ayanis Kalesi’nin de Van Kalesi ve Çavuştepe gibi önemli bir tarih ve turizm destinasyonu hâline gelecektir.
