A major fire hazard was averted near St. Thomas’ School, Kidderpore, on Feb 24th, thanks to the sheer bravery of Inspector Prosenjit Chatterjee, OC Vidyasagar Setu Traffic Guard. While managing traffic, he noticed an electric pole engulfed in flames. Realizing the danger to the crowded locality, he didn’t wait for the fire tender. Instead, he parked his vehicle right under the pole, climbed onto the roof, and used a fire extinguisher to douse the blaze at great personal risk. His swift action and grit have earned him heartfelt gratitude from the locals. We salute our colleague for going well beyond the call of duty!
