Entre las conclusiones mundialistas, empecemos por decir que se coronó como campeón el equipo que mejor jugó y más encomiables argumentos esgrimió durante sus ocho partidos. Con la Selección Española se confirmó la importancia de tener el balón y a partir de esa tenencia establecer las condiciones favorables para elevar en cada partido las probabilidades de ganar. Al buen Mundial le faltó el cierre que ameritaba, y que no se produjo porque el conjunto de Argentina no logró evitar que ese último partido terminara jugándose de un solo lado, en gran parte debido a que Messi llegó vaciado a esa última instancia. Increíbles las posturas anti Argentina y anti Messi que fueron generándose y proliferando entre aficionados mexicanos, en lugar de apreciar lo que también siguen haciendo ellos en el futbol (han estado en TRES de las últimas cuatro finales de Copas del Mundo), y de reconocer en lo que vale al mejor jugador de todos los tiempos. De los tres anfitriones "concakafkianos” el mejor fue México, sobre todo por su memorable actuación ante los ecuatorianos. Y el peor Estados Unidos, que después de un brillante desempeño ante Paraguay fue desinflándose hasta despedirse con su lastimosa exhibición ante Bélgica, ensuciada de antemano con el vergonzoso "caso Balogun”. En contra de lo que muchos suponían o deseaban, las tres sedes mexicanas cumplieron a cabalidad como organizadoras, y de hecho fue en México donde se vivió el mejor ambiente mundialista. Esperemos que las "pausas de monetización“ y ese inusitado medio tiempo de 28 minutos en la Final no hayan llegado a los mundiales de futbol para quedarse instalados en ellos.
