Engagement
Early reading. We have captured 6 original posts for this account, below the 8 we require before treating a median as settled. The numbers above describe what we have seen so far, not a finished profile of the account.
A typical post picks up 2.3K interactions against 458K followers, an engagement rate of 0.501%. Posts are seen about 82K times each, and 2.81% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 17.8% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 2 posts a day over the last 30 days, though only 17% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 07:00 UTC, and Tuesday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 6 posts sampled, 33% carry an image or video and 33% are part of a thread. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 19K interactions, about 8.2x its own typical post. Only 6 original posts have been captured so far, fewer than the 8 posts we want behind a median before treating it as settled. Read the figures above as an early measurement of this account, not as a finished profile of it.

Even your government knows that if they give you the best education, the best opportunities, the best infrastructure, and the right environment to thrive, you have a better chance of becoming one of the best. And if you end up becoming one of the best, you will be difficult to control... Which is a problem for them. So instead of fixing the system that keeps producing the same problems, they call you lazy and convince you that you are the problem… while presenting themselves as the people trying to save you. The thing standing between you and your potential is not a lack of talent, It is the quality of the environment your talent is being forced to survive in. So stop looking down on yourself, you are not useless... It is the system that is designed to make you believe that you are not doing your best and that you have nothing to offer.

With all the natural disasters happening here and there… Africa remains one of the most naturally blessed continents on Earth. Our only natural disaster is our politicians.

Don’t do what men do, if you don’t know what they know. Never confuse confidence with recklessness… They made their decisions under circumstances that may be completely different from yours... And wisdom is understanding why what they did worked for them. Every powerful, wealthy man you know was led by something... This is why two people can make the same move and arrive at completely different destinations. One was following a path… the other was following a person. To imitate the move, you must understand what produced it. Learn what they know & understand what they saw. Ask the deeper questions… forget what you see on the surface. The surface is where you see the sweetness… the foundation is where the sacrifice was made AND where something had to die, for something greater to take its place.

The Igbo and Yoruba did not discover God, spirituality or morality when Europeans arrived. They already had sophisticated ways of understanding the Divine, the ancestors, nature, destiny, morality, life, death and the relationship between the visible and invisible worlds. They had names for the Creator before they heard the English word “God.” They had sacred places before they saw a church. They had spiritual philosophies before they read the Bible. They had ways of communicating with the Divine before somebody taught them how to see God through another people’s language and worldview. We did not meet God when we met Europe. You do not have to abandon Christianity or Islam. You do not even have to practice traditional spirituality. But you should know what existed before you.

Honour your roots. Honour your father. Honour your mother. And when they are gone, don’t let the cemetery become the only physical place where their memory lives. Aside from their burial ground, build a small place of remembrance wherever you are. It could be a small garden… a tree planted in their name… a quiet corner in your home… or a little space where their names continue to breathe. Our ancestors understood this. This was once part of how many of our ancestors understood remembrance, until colonialism and foreign religions taught generations of Africans to fear many ancestral practices. Our practices were demonized. People once created spaces where the memory of those who came before them remained present. In Vietnam, ancestor altars remain an important feature of many homes. Japan has the butsudan… a household Buddhist altar commonly associated with remembering deceased family members. Korea has jesa… memorial rites performed for ancestors. Different forms of ancestral remembrance remain among Chinese communities across Singapore and Southeast Asia, and across parts of Latin America. A grave marks where someone was laid to rest... A place of remembrance marks where their memory continues to live. Many of you buried your parents in places you cannot easily travel to whenever you want to give them their flowers, remember them, pour libation or simply sit quietly with their memory. Give the next generation something physical that connects them to their roots and people who came before them. Afamefuna… May my name never be lost. Let my name not die when I die. Find your way back to your roots… You inherited a history in which people came to Africa carrying their own definitions of God, civilisation and culture, and treated what they did not understand as evil. Not everything our ancestors did was right... But you are old enough now to examine your inheritance for yourself… to know what deserves to remain buried and what deserves to come back to life... Because sometimes what you were taught to run away from is exactly where a missing piece of your identity is waiting for you. Your power did not begin with you. It came from somewhere. Know where you come from. Ki oruko mi ma ku pelu mi.
