A typical post picks up 104 interactions against 528K followers, an engagement rate of 0.02%. Measured over 28 original posts, its engagement rate beats 40% of 3,810 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 20K times each, and 0.518% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 3.78% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 1.8 posts a day over the last 30 days, though only 37% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 12:00 UTC, and Monday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 28 posts sampled, 43% carry an image or video, 14% are part of a thread and 7% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 1.8K interactions, about 17x its own typical post.

Compared with accounts its own size

Nick Huber's engagement rate beats 40% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,810 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 7 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 34% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 0.02%, Nick Huber sits above the 25th percentile of the 36,960 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the below the median band, which runs 0.012% to 0.08%.

Engagement rate as a share of followers, across the 36,960 accounts we have scanned enough to measure. The axis is logarithmic, because the top and bottom of this population are about 106,518 times apart and a linear axis would flatten everything below the median into a single point.

This account posts most often around 12:00 UTC, and Monday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

So I've been waking up every morning at 4am for the last 2 weeks or so, and I wondered what the problem was. Mold? I bought an air purifier - no luck. Allergies? I took a Claritin at night - no luck. Then I remembered my town just switched to LED streetlights. Enraged though I was about that, I hadn't considered that perhaps these damnable, nightmare-style lights might be the cause of my involuntary early wakeups. It's like living inside of a f---- hospital or a prison. The romance of nighttime here in our village has been bleached out, deleted, totally removed. My neighbor said that when the guys came to replace the bulbs, they were preaching about how "it'll be so much easier to see the street when you're driving!" But of course, I spend 8hrs/night sleeping near this street, and maybe 30 seconds a day driving on it. The bulb is 19' from my bedroom window. I have no yard space to plant evergreens, and even if I did, it'd take years to get them to grow that tall. I could install blackout curtains -- but then I can't have a fan in the window, which is essential on summer nights, since we have no A/C. I'm literally so mad I might move house. This feels like a violation, like I'm having my house invaded. All for what? To save a few pennies? The whole country's gone mad, I cannot believe that this is the new world order that's been foisted upon urbanites, townies, and villagers across the whole country.

Many people think money is everything. Men especially. They spend their 20s and 30s trying to collect as much of it as possible like the meaning of their life is whatever number is in their bank account. I think this is incredibly narrow minded and there are tons of other things that matter. Getting married, having kids, and rasing a family. Your physical and mental health, your relationships with the people around you, having hobbies, etc. Life is a culmination of how you spend your days and there are so many epic and important things outside of work. Most of it is about the people you get to know and the experiences you get to have with them. The money enables you to do more of that but it is not the only thing that matters.

My golf journey over the last 4 months: 7.5 index to 2.7 over my last 20 rounds. The difference: A few hundred drills per day with no ball. In my office. At night before bed. Between meetings. Takeaway, weight shift, etc. Change your swing away from the course! https://t.co/elZORJhmcW

Most of the time people aren't giving you the "cold shoulder" on purpose. They didn't purposely not invite you to the happy hour or not text you back. They just missed it. It was random. They don't dislike you. They just forgot. It's hard to stay organized all the time and sometimes you hurt people's feelings. (and if they did, they are one of the rare people who likes to play games and get involved in drama, and it isn't worth your time anyway) Now the important part: Stop hanging on every little thing and taking offense. Stop letting it take up your mental brain space. Go through life smiling and realizing a lot of what happens is random. It isn't about you! Stop getting offended!

Entrepreneurship = firefighting. Every day you wake up, there’s a new problem to solve. A new fire to put out. You have to fall in love with the process of solving these problems. If you don’t like doing this work, you shouldn’t start a company.

Reading these numbers

A typical post picks up 104 interactions against 528K followers, an engagement rate of 0.02%. Measured over 28 original posts, its engagement rate beats 40% of 3,810 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 20K times each, and 0.518% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 3.78% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. What is Nick Huber's engagement rate on X?
Nick Huber (@sweatystartup) has an engagement rate of 0.02%, based on the median interactions across 28 original posts from the last 30 days against 528,474 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 0.02%, Nick Huber sits above the 25th percentile of the 36,960 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
Does @sweatystartup have real engagement?
Its engagement rate beats 40% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,810 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
When does @sweatystartup post?
Most posts go out around 12:00 UTC, and Monday is its busiest day, at roughly 1.8 posts per day across the measured window.
